Move User Directory from Active directory (readonly) to Active directory (readonly) with local group

Hi All,

Im new to confluence and i have to manage an instance with about 50 users. For better management, i want to change the ldap permission from read only to read only with local groups.

Now my question:

Can i just log-in with the local admin and click edit on my active directory server and change that ldap permission? Or add a new directory (the same) with that permission and migrate the users?
