I'm on 6.14.1.
I think this is due to some users copy-pasting emoticons which seems to have turned them into external resources with an absolute URL.
They look like this:
<img class="confluence-embedded-image emoticon emoticon-minus confluence-external-resource" alt="(Minus)" src="https://old.example.org/confluence/s/de_DE/7801/0ac8ad8167063a2d16fb426a10b9044cf4bf1b17/_/images/icons/emoticons/forbidden.svg" data-image-src="https://old.example.org/confluence/s/de_DE/7801/0ac8ad8167063a2d16fb426a10b9044cf4bf1b17/_/images/icons/emoticons/forbidden.svg">
I tried setting up a proxy for our old domain, but I'm not an expert and it's a bit of a hassle to get Let's Encrypt for HTTPS working for a local network. A quick test using HTTP also just gives me a "page not found" rather than the emoticon SVG.
Is there a better way to fix this? Would there be any issues with replacing all old links in the database directly?
This sounds like a byproduct of this bug (which is causing a lot of people heartburn): CONFSERVER-52441
