Migration of Data entries in Confiforms Server to Cloud

Hi

We are moving several instances from server to cloud and I was wondering if there is a way to migrate form entries in the server environment, since a lot of forms were used on the server environment.

ConfiForms has an automated process built into the CCMA that helps with this initiative

Hi @n_travaglini

Migrating ConfiForms data from Confluence Server to Cloud isn’t just about copying form entries. There are a few layers to think about:

  • Form structure & logic: Custom fields, IFTTT rules, and form configurations may not behave identically in the cloud version.
  • Stored entries: Existing submitted data needs to be preserved and correctly linked to the form structure.
  • Macros & integrations: Any macros referencing forms, or custom integrations tied to them, might break or need adjustment post-migration.
  • Permissions & access: Cloud and Server have different models for space/page permissions, which can impact form usage.

Beyond ConfiForms, migrating your Confluence instance as a whole means also considering:

  • Page hierarchies and embedded content
  • User roles, permissions, and group mappings
  • Attachments, inline comments, and macros
  • App compatibility (some Server apps don’t have Cloud versions)

If you're aiming for a smoother transition without data loss or manual rework, you may consider using a migration solution like OpsHub Migration Manager (OMM), an Atlassian Solutions Partner, that:

  • Execute phased or one-time migrations with no disruption and zero downtime
  • Handles custom mappings and field reconfigurations
  • Keeps form logic and data relationships intact across environments

Hope it helps!
