Migrate from old mediawiki to Confluence cloud

I have been searching for a while in a way I could migrate around 800 pages from MediaWiki (self-hosted) to the confluence Cloud.

any suggestion, or has anyone had experience with the same before?

welcome to the community and great to hear that you're planning to migrate from MediaWiki to Confluence.

I personally don't have experience with it or a silver bullet at hand, but I would recommend to give the bulk HTML import a try.

You can start the process by selecting "Spaces" from the main menu and selecting "Import from other tools".
There you can import a zip file including HTML files. Depending on whether MediaWiki offers an export of plain HTML, this could be what you're looking for.

If that doesn't work, you could either build a script (maybe with the help of AI) to either export the MediaWiki pages in the desired format or perform the import to Confluence via REST API straight from MediaWiki.
