hi experts,

Apologies if this is a duplicate question - have tried searching the database for resolution and had to post a question.

We have a requirement to merge a source confluence space into a target space. The target space is not empty and has content already. We are trying to merge the source content into the target space.

When I try to import the space using the "cog icon --> General Configuration --> Administration --> Import Spaces", i get the following error:

A space with key <<Target Space Key>> already exists

I am new to Confluence administration and not sure if I am missing something, can you please help me.

Target space is an Atlassian on-demand instance.

I know that the space keys of source and target are different and below is the snapshot of the exportDescriptor.properties files of the source XML and the target XML (have exported the space for backup purposes).

Source exportDescriptor.properties

Hi,

Maybe this works:

  1. Rename the source space (name and key).
  2. Export it.
  3. Import it to the ondemand instance.
  4. Move the pages from the source space to the target space manually.

Regards,
Stephan
