Make it so users dont have to login to view Confluence spaces.

Hi! I want to make it so that users don't have to log in to read and access Confluence Spaces as I want to use it as a knowledge base for customers to help themself before contacting us. Is this possible? Thanks!

Hi Lachlan,

As @Sachin mentioned, this requires the use of Anonymous Access. On a Confluence Cloud Free plan, as you have, this is not an available feature. See Manage permissions in the Free plan of Confluence Cloud.

The Free plan is for small teams of fewer than 10 people who are just getting started with Confluence. Confluence is completely open to logged-in users when you’re on the Free plan. That means everyone who can log in to your Confluence site can view, add, and edit spaces and pages.

While Confluence is open to logged-in users, anonymous access isn’t available on the Free plan. Only users who log in to your Confluence site can access it.

To take advantage of Confluence permissions, restrictions, or anonymous access, upgrade your plan.

I hope that clarifies why you're not currently able to do it. You'll need to upgrade from the free plan if you require anonymous access.

Do let us know if you have any questions about this.

Take care,

Shannon

Hello Lachalan, Confluence offers “anonymous access” which means the site visitor does not need a login and thus does not need to be licensed to view the content. This article should help you understand more.

@Lachlan Wintour

You may also want to take a look at my team's app Scroll Viewport. With it, you can turn your Confluence content into a help center site, which would be a great use case when trying to deflect support tickets. :) You can even integrate the widget from several popular support tools, so you can created a fluid experience for your users.

As an examples, We're using Scroll Viewport on our help site: https://help.k15t.com/
