I would like to add folders and notes to a team space not my personal space and allow the team to add and edit as they would like.
Hi @McAllister, Holley welcome to Atlassian Community.
Here's how you can set up a team space and manage it effectively in Confluence Cloud:
This is the first and most crucial step.
Where to go:
Log in to your Confluence Cloud instance.
In the left sidebar, look for the "Spaces" section (it might be under "Your work" or directly visible).
Click on the "+" icon next to "Spaces" or a "Create space" button (this button's exact location can vary slightly with UI updates, but it's always prominent).
Choose a Template:
You'll be prompted to choose a space template. For a team, you'll likely want to select a "Team space" or "Team collaboration space" template. These often come pre-populated with useful page types like meeting notes, decisions, and project plans.
Alternatively, you can choose a "Blank space" if you prefer to build the structure completely from scratch.
Name Your Space: Give your space a clear and descriptive name (e.g., "Product Team Docs," "Project X Collaboration," "Marketing Hub"). A Space Key will be automatically generated, which is a short, unique identifier.
Set Initial Permissions: During creation, you'll have an initial chance to set basic permissions (e.g., who can view or contribute). You can refine these immediately after creation.
Access Space Permissions:
Once your new space is created, navigate to it.
In the left sidebar, scroll down and click on "Space settings" (often under "Manage space" or "Space tools").
In the settings, go to the "Permissions" section.
Grant Permissions and save.
Confluence doesn't use traditional folders like a file system. Instead, it uses a hierarchical page tree to organize content.

This is what I get when I select on spaces in the left sidebar:

@McAllister, Holley When I select Spaces in the sidebar, I get a popup menu that includes a + Create a space option.
Since you don't get this, it seems that the first thing you need to do is contact your Confluence Administrator to request permissions to create spaces. This is one of the things a Confluence Admin can control in the global permissions, as described on this page: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/manage-global-permissions/
