Live Doc: Exporting to PDF downloads the old header and not the newly updated header.

Jamie Konwinski October 22, 2025

We just updated the headers in our live docs (new branding for the our company). However, when we go to export to PDF, the old header still shows. We have found a work-around:

1. Convert the live doc to a regular doc.

2. Convert it again back to a live doc.

3. The Header then exports correctly.

My users aren't happy that they have to do these extra steps. Does anyone know if there is a way to have the exports work correctly without the extra steps outline above?

If I understand Live Docs correctly, they will do a "snapshot" after some time of no activity.  I would assume that such a snapshoted Live Doc will show the correct header.  So maybe it's making the Live Doc, wait for some time and then export?

I'll watch to see if waiting for some time to go by will make it so that the exported PDF includes the updated header. It's just odd since it looks fine on the screen and you don't know that it's 'broken' until you export it. You then have to go back and convert to regular doc and then back to a live doc and export it again. my users just aren't too happy about it:-)
