Hi,

In our compagny people are using differents OS (linux, macos, windows), Linux users are reporting crashes (freeze) when using Chrome. However, everything works fine with Firefox. Have you also experienced similar issues ?

-latest version of Chrome

-ubuntu 22.04 / 24.04

Thanks

Yeah, we’ve run into the same thing — mostly on Ubuntu 22.04 with the latest Chrome builds. Pages with heavy DOM elements (like complex tables or macro-heavy spaces) in Confluence tend to freeze or lag badly.

Switching to Firefox solved it instantly, so it’s clearly something Chrome-specific on Linux. We tried disabling hardware acceleration in Chrome (chrome://settings/system), and that actually helped reduce the crashes for some users.

Also worth checking if any Chrome extensions are messing with Confluence rendering, we had one case where Grammarly was contributing to the issue. Not a full fix, but might help until Atlassian or Google address it more directly.
