Hello
I work in a company with about 50 people.
We are wondering about using Confluence for documentation / reporting and access to some customers.
Out of the 50 internal users, only about 10 will need to contribute and edit documents, and the other 40 are just consumers of it.
Would we need 10 licences, or 50?
Many thanks
Depend how restrict is your data.
Options that you have:
1. Buy 10 licenses and open your confluence for anonymous read access. Your license will be small but anyone who will know url to your confluence will be able to read data
2. Buy 50 licenses. In this case even that 40 users needs to read content only they need to be billed, but your data is secured and no one without login won't be able to see content.
Regards,
Seba
@Jason Turner As a third option, you can buy 10 licenses and use an app from the Atlassian Marketplace to generate a website from your Confluence content for the other 40 internal people to consume. You could apply security to that site to make is accessible to some of your customers as well. Some Marketplace apps are free for up to 10 users.
