Latest Confluence vulnerability - updated - license expired - nowere to buy a new one

Alexandru Lungu September 24, 2021

I have a Confluence (Server) 10 Users: Starter License for wich I see that the support expired on  27 Feb 2021.

I have been hit by CVE-2021-26084 and updated to the latest version; now it says that my license expired; I'm trying to buy a new one but it seem that the new versions are not for sale... wtf!?!

Atlassian is moving off of Server versions of all its applications.  The timeline for the transition is in the following link: https://www.atlassian.com/migration/journey-to-cloud

@Bernhard Breit @Robert Wen_Cprime_

The application is stuck in "Confluence had problems starting up"... "License Inconsistency" so even if I want I can't move to the cloud.

I'll try to see what coleagues from big companies have done.

Hmm, yes, that message rings a bell - had that when I tried to start an old system with Confluence installed from an image backup. Could not resolve it, then. Admittedly, as it was just a restore test, I did not try very hard but just reorganized my backup so it would export all content and save that separately.

Sorry for being of not much help here, do you have some backup from before you updated the Confluence version?

There are still ways to move to the cloud.  You have to contact Atlassian so that you can get a server license that covers the time it takes to do the migration.

Hopefully the following link can help: https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/migrate-to-cloud-with-an-expired-server-license/

Good luck!

Sorry to say, @Alexandru Lungu , you have hit the brick wall. You are forced to move into "the cloud" now or pay for a datacenter license.

Would love to give you a less painful answer, but don´t have one. Good luck!
