Large table with sticky first column and header

Daniel Vianna February 8, 2019

I've created a table with many columns (7) and rows (16)

2 problems I encountered:

1-I would like to version column and the first row to be frozen.

So when I move the table to the right or down, I don't loose track of this information without any external plugins. Right now I can't do that. My header is only sticky using Confluence table when the table fits in the page

2-The scrollbar sometimes disappears so I need to edit mode to change it.

Any suggestions on how to do that?

Hello there Daniel! Thanks for reaching out to the Community.

As you have noted, the sticky column is where the sticky headers fall short. According to documentation, sticky headers are not sticky in the following situations:

  • Is inside a page layout, inside another table, or inside a macro.
  • Has no header row or there are cells in the top row that aren't marked as headers.
  • Has a header column, instead of a header row, and scrolls horizontally.
  • Contains another table, that has its own header row.

However, this might be possible while using the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence third-party plugin from StiltSoft:

Hello Diego!

Thanks a lot for the information!

Is there an alternative for this without external plugins?

I'm trying to keep Confluence cost low, because this will be only used in one situation

Hello Daniel!

Not that I am aware of. Maybe developing a user macro for that would work. However the return may not be ideal since this will be only used once by your company.
