Hi Confluence guys,
Can you guys advise if there is any way to keep the sidebar constantly expanded. With your latest update, if I need to expand the sidebar and keep it expanded (or make it wider), there is an additional step for this to occur VS how you had it previously implemented.
With the latest update, I need to click the hamburger icon at the top, and then drag the side bar out. Whereas previously you could expand it directly from its collapsed state.
Perhaps is there some sort of configuration switch to make this possible so users can choose how their sidebar behaves (as everyone is different! :))
Thanks
Mike
Hi Mike,
If you'd like to keep the sidebar expanded, type [ (the open bracket). You can use the same shortcut to close the sidebar.
Hope this helps!

Where do you type the left bracket? Is this for IT Admins or Space Admins?

@Ti Sorry I missed your first post. I don't believe it it exclusive to any admin groups. Simply navigate to any Confluence Cloud page with the side bar (your home page won't have this) and press the '[' key to open or close the side bar.

The behavior is squirrelly now. I'm on Safari (MacOS) and, when the zoom level is higher, the sidebar won't stay open and, when visible, the page does NOT refresh and it hides part of the text. Even navigating to a new page (via the sidebar) draws the new page underneath the side bar. So there's a layout bug there.
By zooming way, way out, I was finally able to get the page drawn correctly. Zooming back in, it seems ok (for now). It seems to happen every so often.

The problem crops up when I navigate to a page using a link. The sidbar will be hidden by default. Showing it hides part of the page, etc., as above.
Expected behavior: The sidebar needs to be pin-able and that setting needs to be respected in all contexts.
