Jira Service Management moving to Premium

matt_blackwell July 29, 2025

We currently use Jira Service Management to gather feedback and bugs on our platform. I noted a banner stating that after Oct 16, change, problem and advanced incident management were moving to a Premium subscription tier.

I'm not sure if that includes JSM or not as that would double our monthly subscription costs if it did

Hi @matt_blackwell

I you already have a JSM Premium subscription, these features will not change.

If you are on a JS Free or Standard subscription, these features will be removed.

This has no relation to Confluence.

Hi @matt_blackwell

it does not include Jira Service Management as a whole, but only the processes and related functions to Change-, Problem- and advanced Incident Management that Jira Service Management offers.
If you're not using these functions and merely the basic features including your own workflows, fields and issue types, you should be fine.

If you're unsure, I recommend creating a ticket with Atlassian, explaining what features you're using and requesting confirmation on whether you will need to upgrade in order to continue using JSM as before.
