Java error when attempting to export space to HTML

Kevin Gamin October 12, 2018

When I attempt to export one of our spaces, I get the following message after only a few seconds:

There was an error in the export. Please check your log files. :java.lang.NullPointerException

Here is the full log entry:

Kevin,

Can you tell us what version of Confluence you're using?

It seems like your server might be terminating the connection so you can also use Crashes and Performance Issues Troubleshooting in order to dive deeper into your issue.

Regards,

Shannon

Shannon,

We have Confluence 6.20.

I am looking at the troubleshooting guide. I do note that the guide is for JIRA, but I assume Confluence runs on that or has similar troubleshooting steps.

Shannon,

I've gotten around the issue by doing a custom export and skipping any pages which were set up as subfolders with no actual documentation. You can close this thread.

Hi Kevin,

The article is for Jira but it mentions troubleshooting JAVA/JDK which could have helped if that's what is crashing.

At any rate, glad you were able to work around it by skipping the problematic pages.

Regards,

Shannon
