Hello, I am building out a Google chrome extension to help facilitate creating articles in Confluence Data Center for my team. Currently, my code for the extension sends requests with a personal access token that is generated by users.

I was hoping to find a way to instead allow users to authenticate themselves and future CRUD requests to the REST API with a simple login when the user first opens the extension. Ideally, this login would be recalled throughout the duration of the 'session' where users are already logged into Confluence from another tab.

I have had no success in trying to do this w/ Cookie based authentication as that has been deprecated. Additionally, using username + password based authentication is not an option as users login via their Google accounts. Is there a way to set this up without creating an external application in confluence? For example, in the chrome store there is the "Confluence Quick Search" extension which seems to do this but I cannot figure out how. Thank you.
