We have a collection of Excerpt macros from one space (A) that we want to aggregate on a page in another space (B) using Excerpt Include macros.

We don't want to give permissions to the full pages in the source space (A), though do want to share the information within the Excerpt sections into the Excerpt Include section in the broader space (B).

Is there a way to programmatically strip the permissions from the Excerpt macros on the source page in space (A) to allow the page for space (B) to show the content?

Hi @Jeff Boekelman,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

No, the permission is based on what the user have in the different spaces, you cannot give macros different permissions.

Hi @Jeff Boekelman ,

The Table Excerpt/Table Excerpt Include macros' permissions replicate the permissions of the source page. If the person isn't allowed to view the Page A, then they won't be able to see its excerpt on the available Page B.

This comes in handy, for example, if you need to restrict certain table columns for viewing and/or editing - please check our blog post "How to Restrict Table Columns for Viewing and Editing in Confluence" to learn more about the use case.
