I'm the chairman of our condominium association and we use the free version of Confluence/JIRA, which works very well. However, there are things that could work better if we for instance had the possibility to restrict pages and sign documents.
I'm trying to wrap my head around the pricing but it's extremely confusing, and looks very expensive. Can someone please assist me in this?
Confluence Standard for 10 people would $680 if paid annually or about $80 a month if paid monthly.
The basic price is $6.70 per user per month.
The question is, how many people need to actual author/edit documents, and how many people only need to read access.
The idea is to give paid seats only to actual authors, and make the content available to readers either in a publicly available space (native Confluence Standard feature) or on a dedicated website which can be public or password protected (you will need an app for that).
There's also an option to add Guests to a Standard confluence. Guests are free (up to 5 per paid user) and you can give them edit rights if needed,
Another option is to use a workflow app on your Free site. Such an app would take care of 'permissions' - effectively lock the page until it's signed.
I'd start with auditing how many people need what form of access and then tailor the solution for this.
Here's the overview of Atlassian non-profit discounts: https://www.atlassian.com/teams/nonprofits/discount-pricing
10 users need to author/edit documents, and 5 need read access.

Today we have both Confluence and JIRA, and from what i can find out the price is $395 anually for both with 10 users.
And when i looked at this a year ago it was way more expensive...

Hey @Tobbe Wilson
If you're already using two products (Jira & Confluence), you might want to have a look at the Teamwork Collection here: https://www.atlassian.com/collections/teamwork/pricing
The Standard plans come with proper permission management.
What exactly confuses you regarding the pricing? About how many users are we talking here?
Regards from Germany,
Thorsten
