We are bringing on freelancers who we do not want to see most of the content in Confluence. There is one page in particular which contains child pages that is OK for this group to view. Is there a way to grant access to only this page for a specific group of users?
Yes, but you need to do it with structure, it's not a "can (not) see page".
First, you need to ensure that the freelancers all have view rights for the space. All of it. That's the easy bit.
The second, more complicated bit, is that you now need to split your space into two (or more) parts. This is because page view restrictions cascade down.
Imagine you create a really simple space, with two pages - Public and Private. Any pages created beneath either of those will inherit view restrictions from them. So, if you
The cascade is important - if a page is under "private", it doesn't matter what further restrictions are on it, your freelancers cannot see it. You could add them into the restrictions, but it won't open up the page for them.
To put it another way, to see a page, you must be able to see all of the pages above it in the hierarchy.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
