I have a zip-file (Confluence-space-export-102730-12244), looks kind of ok when looking into it, but import only results in some menus in the left column but not data when choosing that menu. Many menus are only numbers insted of text.
This import or restore is one step in the product evaluation.
Hello @Stephan Åkeborg
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
What instructions/steps did you execute to make the back up?
What instructions/steps did you execute to complete the restore?
Did you restore to a different Confluence instance than the one from which the backup was created?
This may change the ‘mode’ for role-based access control
This Confluence instance is currently in “roles only” mode for managing space access, but will shift into “transition” mode if the space you’re importing is from an instance in a different access mode. In “transition” mode, any users or groups not assigned a role will have “custom access” and will need to be assigned a role.
The second error is since i tried twice, ill remove that one before rerun.
There was an error during import. Please see below for more information.
A space with key COMPSERVIC already exists.

It looks ok if i copy the zip-file, extract it and then start up one html-page, then inside that page i can click a link and the linked page (a document) pops up.
maybe something with my auth in the cloud confluence.
The export or so was just done via UI.

Can you provide the detailed steps you used to create the backup and import the backup, or a link to the instruction documents you referenced?
Are you importing the backup to the same instance from which you generated the backup, or a different instance? Do the spaces in the backup already exist in the instance where you are trying to import it? The import process will fail if a space with the same key already exists.

Hi, i exported the space in one instance, then im trying to import it tino another new space during the trial phase of confluence (and jira).
I think the export is done on confluence in the cloud but im not sure (but most likely as a SaaS-ish).
Export from UI production space, import from UI (in my trial confluence)
Cheers

Thank you for the additional information.
When you elect to delete a space it is moved to the Trash folder.
You need to empty the Trash folder to completely delete a space key from the instance.
Did you export a single space from Space Settings for that space?
Or did you use the Backup Manager from Confluence Administration?
Did you reference any documentation as you went through these processes or just try to figure it out from what you found in the UI?
Do you have any third party apps installed in the production site? If so, do you have the same apps installed in the site where you are trying to import the data?
