If I restore a space via Restore a backup from the Confluence Home Directory will it overwrite?

I am restoring a few larger spaces via  Restore a backup from the Confluence Home Directory. In doing so will it overwrite the existing content that is already live?

Does a space with the same space key already exist?
Space keys are unique, so if you already have a space with the same key, you'll need to delete the existing space before importing the new one.
