If I change default space permissions will it change existing space permissions.

I'm assuming it doesn't work this way, but want to verify before changing permissions.

For the default permissions on new spaces, if I change them in the Confluence Settings, does it change existing space permissions, or just apply to new spaces?

@Douglas Lawson Your understanding is correct. Updating the default permissions will only affect spaces created going forward. Existing spaces will still require their roles and permissions to be updated individually.
