been getting alot of notificatins that are mostly irrelevant. had an arrangment with my team to tag me when required and hence ill need to get an email notification only then, how can i do that ?

You can disable notifications from here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/email-notifications-145162.html
But there is no feature about only when tagged.
