I was able to connect using OpenLDAP but I can't get a domain user to login though

Note:   our domain no longer accepts 389, the non-ssl port.  since we have to use the SSL port, do we need to also use HTTPS for the site?  For testing, I've removed https

 the message in the log file, atlassian-confluence.log is that the user doesn't have permissions.

found out I didn't need an LDAP entry because I use CAS to authenticate user into confluence using the university credentials
