I want to integrate Confluence (hosted by Atlassian) with Crowd ? Is it possible ?
When I'm running standalone version of Confluence I have option "User Directories" in administration console. In hosted Confluence this option is missig. Is it possible to integrate hosted confluence with Crowd ?
There is some checkbox to integrate with JIRA (I'm not using JIRA) so it's disabled but I guess that is not I'm looking for.
2nd thing: Is it possible to have Crowd hosted by Atlassian ?
Hi Lukasz,
I'm sorry to say that we don't support Active Directories with Hosted instances of Confluence anymore, nor do we support external links to self-hosted applications such as Crowd, so the short answer to your question is that it isn't possible for Atlassian-hosted instances.
Having checked our records, I believe that you are referring to an OnDemand instance of Confluence, so you might be surprised to discover that your instance does actually contain an embedded Crowd for user management already, (as do all AOD instances), so, to answer your second question, it is certainly possible to have Crowd hosted by Atlassian, but only when it is part of the OnDemand package.
Finally, the option to integrate with JIRA is so that JIRA can perform the user management for both instances through an OAuth trusted communication link. However, this is not relevant for OnDemand instances because the user management for all applications in an OnDemand instance is handled by the embedded Crowd I referreed to earlier.
I hope that has sufficiently answered your questions but if not then please don't hesitate to request further clarification.
All the best,
John
