I want to add a value to the dropdown under type field under epic but I am not getting the field

I want to add a value to the dropdown under type field under epic but I am not getting the field anywhere in settings and I am unable to add the value. Can anyone suggest me solution for this.

In Jira Cloud, the “Type” field on epics is tied to the issue type scheme and isn’t editable directly from the settings. To add a new value, you need to create a new issue type or update the issue type scheme for your project. Go to Jira Settings → Issues → Issue Types, create or edit an issue type, then ensure it’s included in the project’s issue type scheme. Once added, the dropdown under Epic will show the new type.
