I have used a table in my confluence page with multiple rows and columns. In the last column, I have added a Task List check box. I'm not sure why, but the check boxes in some rows are aligned differently from the others.
I put my cursor in the cell and the Alignment options appear. There's two options, Left Alignment and Centre Alignment, one of these is always greyed out. When I check the alignment of the incorrectly positioned check boxes, they indicate that they are the same alignment as the correct ones. All are aligned in the center, but the incorrectly positioned check boxes look aligned to the left.
Anyone know how I can resolve this, it's playing with my OCD tendencies?
I've run into similar behavior in Confluence before. Even when the cell alignment settings appear identical, hidden formatting within the table cell can sometimes affect how task list checkboxes are displayed.
A few things you could try:
Edit the affected cells and remove any extra spaces, blank lines, or hidden characters before the checkbox.
Delete the checkbox and recreate it in the affected cells.
Copy a correctly aligned checkbox cell and paste it over the problematic one.
Check whether the row height or cell formatting differs from the other rows.
If you're using the new editor, try switching to edit mode and recreating the entire column of task lists.
In some cases, it's simply a rendering issue in the editor, so it may be worth checking whether the alignment looks correct when the page is published or viewed in a different browser.
Hopefully, one of those options helps restore your sanity!
Hello @Si Scott
This is usually caused by hidden formatting inside the cell.If the text or checkbox was copy-pasted, it often brings along extra spacing or an empty line that throws off the alignment.
Try clearing one of the broken cells completely, resetting the alignment, and inserting a brand-new checkbox instead of pasting the old one back.
You can also add a fresh row at the bottom to test it if that one works, it's definitely a copy-paste glitch, and it'll be faster to just recreate those few rows.
Best,
