I'd like to change the Favicon by injecting html into the <head> tag

I'm trying to insert this code:

<link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/png" href="/favicon.png"/>

where i would replace the "/favicon.png" with a different URL, depending on the page. I want to be able to modify this depending on the space/page that is in question, not for the server as a whole.

Apparently that line needs to be inside the <head> tag, so I don't know how to do that...

For our project boards, we also would like to change the favicon based on board. With all showing the same general Jira favicon, we cannot distinguish the boards when pinned in the browser (or many tabs are open).
