How to write wiki markup or markdown description on Confluence page?

I would like to our confluence page by wiki markdown format.

According to atlassian tutorial, we can describe wiki format on the confluence plain text editor directly. But I cannot do it.

Could you please let me know the detail of the procedures of describing wiki format on confluence page.
