How to retrieve the most recent children pages (order by id or date descending)

Using endpoint :

/wiki/rest/api/content/{id}/child/page?&expand=body.view&start=1&limit=9999

Is there any way to sort by id or create date descending?  I'm hitting the limit of pages returned (which appears to be a 100 record limit regardless of the limit in the above querystring), and would be able to reduce the requested response if I could date-descend with the most recent records.

Thank you - I saw that post during my search for answers but not sure it can help.

I need to be able to pull all children from a parent document, and order them by date descending.  I've tried the search endpoint but was unable to get just children under a parent.
