Hi,
We have multiple users and user groups who can create an event using 'Add event' option in Confluence calendar. We would like to provide the access to certain users alone so that those user or group can add or edit an event. Rest of the users or groups should not be able to add or edit the events.
Tried to use the "Restrictions" option using admin user but still everyone is able to add or edit an event. Could anyone please help on how to restrict the users or groups to add or edit an event in the confluence calendar?
It is creating lots of issues and becoming messy.
Thanks
Karthik
Karthik,
The Restrictions option should indeed work like that:
If you restrict editing of a calendar, any user not allowed to edit the calendar won't be able to add events to the calendar, edit any existing events, or change restrictions for the calendar.
If it's not working properly, allow me to help determine the reason. Could you show us what permissions you currently have set on the calendar and which version of Team Calendars and Confluence you're running?
Regards,
Shannon
Hi Shannon,
Thanks in advance for your great help. We are using below cloud versions.
Confluence 1000.0.0-ddf1007d26e, Team Calendars 1000.0.51.

Karthik,
Thank you for providing that.
I'm curious, which users exactly are you trying to restrict from adding events? You mentioned earlier that you wanted to allow only the admin user but in your 2nd screenshot, it appears you're allowing most of your groups editing permissions, including the default Confluence group. This would allow all of your Confluence users to edit events on the calendar.
If you only want your administrators to edit the events, then you want to make sure that only that group or a single user is listed under Editing restricted to.
Can you try that and confirm if that helps your issue?
