How to restore a single space from a cloud backup?

Thomas Braun December 20, 2023

Seems i deleted a space months ago by accident. I have older cloud backups of the whole site. Is there a way to restore a single space from a complete cloud backup?

@Thomas Braun , Whats check to see if your space is in the trash. Click on the spaces menu bar selection and then if you are spaces. Once in that screen click on the trashed lozenge. See if your space is listed there. If found, then click on the… to the right, and select restore. If you do not find your space, then, unfortunately, it is gone cannot be restored without a full restoration.

Hello Jack,
thank you for the fast answer. Unfortunately the space is not in the trash folder. I will try to restore the whole site into a temp instance, as Marc suggested.

Hi @Thomas Braun

Welcome to the community.

I second the answer from @Jack Brickey

The options you have is to create another cloud instance temporarily, import the backup and export the space and then import the space into your instance.

Remove the temp instance.

Hello Marc,
thank you for the help and the tip with the temporal instance. Is it correct that i have to go to https://www.atlassian.com/try and sign up for a new Confluence trial just for getting a temporal instance?
