How to limit access to just a space with no access to status updates?

We have clients logging into our confluence instance to view project spaces. We also use confluence for our intranet. I want external client to only see the space i give them access too. That works fine, but when they login, they also see all of our internal Status updates. How do i make it so that they do not see any status updates (or personal pages) but can only access the project space?

Perhaps you can change confluence layout by applying different appearance for different groups of users? here's an example: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/How+To+Display+Different+Appearance+for+Different+Users+Using+Confluence+Layouts
