How to grant Edit permissions to a specific page only?

Phillip K Dunn July 29, 2025

How can I give Edit access to a specific page in Confluence, without giving access to the rest of the space?

Hi @Phillip K Dunn,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

It can be done by setting view permissions on the top level pages, view restrictions are inherited down. But this also means that the page you want to give the user edit permissions to has to be on the top level, if it is further down in the page tree they have to have view permissions on parent pages.

Another option would be to move the page in question to a new space and then use page link to show it in the existing space as well, that way you only have to set the space permissions and do not have to maintain view restrictions.

Thank you! The second option seems like the most feasible. Cheers, @Mikael Sandberg !
