How to get the name/content of all ascendant pages?

Hi, I got a question during using Confluence.

I`m trying to use Confluence as a Central Filing, for each file page, there are some attributes I need to get from their ascendant pages automatically.

Firstly I tried to use macro "table excerpt", but "table excerpt include" can only choose children/descendants, I cannot get parent/ascendants via this excerpt. And I finally have no idea about it.

So is there any possibility I can get the name/content of all ascendant pages of current page?

Seems that you have our Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence app installed for your instance (all the "...Table..." macros in your list are ours).

Your question indeed looks like a feature request for the Table Excerpt/Table Excerpt Include macros. 

Please can you describe the use case a little bit?

So, you have smth like this:

- Master page

---- Parent page

------- Current page

You place the Table Excerpt Include macro on the Current page and want to collect page titles and/or content from Table Excerpts from Parent page or from Parent page&Master page. Is this correct?

Can you please elaborate about the practical usage of this feature? We mean, what data and why you need to collect this way?

Thanks a lot for your kind reply. Actually I`m not asking for a new function, just looking for a solution to get name of parent page, and I believe new function cannot meet the DDL of my delivery :.(

I`m also trying to use "Children Display" but still not find out a solution... 

I`m using Confluence as Central Filing, page structure is "Entity-Year-Type-File", I need to list all attributes of File in File page, which including "Entity"/"Year"/"Type". If I cannot get them directly from parent pages, I can only let user input manually and they will not happy.

Yes, we see. Nevertheless, we've created a ticket with this improvement for our internal backlog and attached the link to this thread to it - once the feature is implemented, we'll get back here.
