We started using the Live Docs feature now that it is generally available. However, when using live docs, we noticed that the email notification for actions is sent to "others" but not when assigned to "myself", even though I have the option Notify on my actions enabled.
Is there some other setting I need to enable to get this to send notifications to myself as well?
This has been confirmed as a bug. If you experience the same issue, please check the bug report and let them know it affects you too.
Hi @Anja Visnikar ,
The "Notify on my actions" setting in Confluence Cloud (under your profile > Settings > Email notifications) is intended for receiving updates on pages/spaces you're watching when you perform actions like editing or commenting. However, it doesn't trigger notifications for self-assignments (ex: @mentioning yourself in a live doc or task).
This is by design to prevent spam from your own activities, Atlassian explicitly excludes self-notifications across products like Confluence and Jira for this reason.
I wonder if possible, you can try Rovo agents or automation to set up a rule to trigger on task creation -> send email to ourselves if assignee = currentUser but I dont think this would work.

Hope everything works out well for you.

it seems there is some confusion, as we actively use this feature on "old" pages. If I assign a task to myself and publish the page, I will get an email notification for this task.
This is a desired outcome in our case, as we use actions to indicate things to do on the meeting and getting an email afterwards ensures we don't forget what we're supposed to do once the meetings are over. It's a very strong requirement on our end.
While this works as desired on the old pages, it doesn't work on the live pages.
If I understand you correctly - this feature is not planned on the live pages and might even be accidental on the old pages?

Hi @Anja Visnikar ,
Thank you for clarifying this for me! I
in the new "live" pages (which I believe refer to the updated editor experience or features like databases/whiteboards in Premium), notifications for self-actions are indeed limited or inconsistent. You can report this through support.atlassian.com/contact > Confluence > UI issues > Include page URL, browser/version, screenshot. Premium plan like yours would gets faster support :)
I hope this works out well for you!
Best regards,
Peter
