Our app that is Table Filter and Charts for Confluence also allows to freeze first N rows/columns with the help of its Table Filter macro.

The info about the sticky table headers that you can get out-of-the-box is written in the bottom of this doc.

I remember doing this before without going through third party plugin. 

I remember using "Freeze Panes" has there been any updates or its there any free plugin available to Freeze a row in confluence ?
