How to fix corrupt text on Debian?

Deleted user February 22, 2020

I'm having this problem, but the solution there doesn't suggest any Debian packages. Here are the installed font packages, so can anyone pinpoint what's missing here?

Hi,

Could you tru the following?

Clear your browser cache

Run sudo apt-get install fontconfig to ensure font healthcheck run w/o problems

Run sudo apt-get remove fonts-lyx on the server to remove problematic fonts

Run sudo apt-get install gsfonts gsfonts-other fonts-dejavu fonts-dejavu-core fonts-dejavu-extra libmotif-common to install / update required fonts

Run fc-cache -s on the server to update the fonts cache

Clear the plugins cache (restart required)

Rebuild the content indexes from scratch (restart required)

Regards

Are you sure motif is the exact name of the Debian package? apt says Unable to locate package motif.

You are welcome :)

Did my initial answer solve your problem?

If so, consider to mark the proposed solution as an 'Accepted answer'. This will help other people with the same or a quite similar problem to find a solution in a easy and faster way.

In addition, by doing this the post will automatically gain the "Solved:" prefix in search results to indicate other people that no further support is needed.

Kind Regards.
