I have a user group with permissions to 'delete pages' and to 'delete own'.
But if they want to delete a version, they can't, because they lack the 'delete option.

Does anyone know how to get the 'delete' option?

@Niels van den Berg Welcome to the Atlassian community!

Check the restrictions/permissions on the individual page. If the user has permission to View the page but not Edit the page, I believe they won't be able to delete an historical version of the page.

Even if the user group has permission to "delete pages" and "delete own," Confluence treats page versions separately. To delete a specific version, users also need the "Remove Page Versions" permission.

You can check this by going to:
Space Settings → Permissions → Scroll to "Delete Version" or "Remove Page Versions" and make sure your group is included.

Once that permission is granted, the delete option should appear in the page version history.
