I am trying to create a template in confluence that can be used by my team. However, I need to import it every time from the google docs or from my word doc on my system. Is there a way i can default it on confluence itself
Yes, you can create a template in Confluence that you can use anytime.
Go to your space settings -> templates and then click Create Template in the top right corner.
That will allow you to create a template that others can use when they create new pages.

thank you I was able to create template. Does anyone know how to create the template as a macro that we can click and that template will populate

When you create the template, it will appear on the right side with the other templates as you create a new page. There are quite a few of them, so there is a tab called "Custom" that will show only your custom templates.
