In the new layout it beat me how to change the background color of a single cell.
I tried to ask chatgpt but in the different answers there is not answer.
In not a single menu there is the option to change the background color of a single cell.
When clicking the dotted box it selects the complete row.
Hi @Edward_de_Leau ,
the cells menu is buggy in Confluence cloud, actually. I suspect you are affected by the bug:
https://jira.atlassian.com/projects/CONFCLOUD/issues/CONFCLOUD-83655
people say the workaround is:
- Add a second table on the page or
- Double click anywhere outside the table
----
Not sure if it help you though (did not help me so far, I had to insert a table into existing page, and change cells settings).
Regards,
Rustem
Gosh! I had no idea! Thank you so much for pointing that out! 🙌

Thanks, I will try it. I did save the page to check if it then would appear but maybe it also continues on a page that is already saved.
The weird thing is the icon does appear on a screen of a collegeau using the same os , same browser but not on my screen. Luckily there are collegeaus to help you out :)

Hi @Edward_de_Leau , you are always welcome! :)
Bugs in Cloud are really hard to trace sometimes. In our Team this bug also happen to appear mostly to me. Probably there are some conflicts with browser plugins, or some OS settings, or browser version... I am just glad I have a workaround :)

A collegae change it and he indeed has this icon.
We went to my laptop and there was NOT this icon. So that explained it. No idea why this icon does not show on my PC but on his PC it does using the same browser.

Yes, this icon was suggested also by chatgpt.
Unfortunately that icon is not present on my screen.
A collegeau using the same browser, same os, HAD this icon... so he changed the background color. We went back to my laptop but there , there is no icon.

Same problem here with Chrome on Mac. I even delete the whole browser data, but the problem still is there.

@Sebastian Brinkmann have you tried this:
- Add a second table on the page or
- Double click anywhere outside the table
?
Also, few days ago I found another strange bug - if the cell if is in a last column in a table it may somehow be partially hidden by the table`s right border. I had to resize the table twice before the formatting option appeared (the fun thing is also adding a column to the right did not work, they were not appearing until i resized the table itself).

Rustem
