How to add new record in modal Dialog (registration control as button)

I would like to add a new record to a form below a list view by clicking on a button that opens a registration control modal dialogue. 

When I now configure the registration control below a table view, it will always show in the embedded view - also when I configure it's view to "button" or "Link". What could be the problem?

I would expect this setting to place a button below the table which opens a modal dialogue to add a new record to the table view. But it doesn't.

Hi

when you configure the Registrations Control to render as button it will render as a button. It supports two more modes: as link and as embedded to the page.

How do you have it configured?
