I have a client who would like to host confluence on their own server. How does confluence integrate with active directory, file structure, file permissions etc compared to a "regular" MS network?
Active Directory is a user management that runs as a service. Confluence can use it as a service that provides a user directory for it. You look after users and groups in AD, and Confluence uses it internally for, well, user information.
File structures and permissions have nothing to with the lists of users in Confluence.
