How do you keep the content of your site up to date and duplicate free?

Recently I've been wondering how does everyone keep the content of their site up to date and duplicate free?

We have a large instance with documents in their tens of thousands, with a large bulk of them being over 12 months old. I don't think I would have any sucess if I was to approach a user with 800 pages and say that 50% of their pages needs reviewing because of their age.

Also, how do you handle documents owned by unknown accounts?

If you use Confluence cloud, you can try the free macro I created that lists the top most outdated pages. You can have your team look at the top 5 each day for example to have the outdated pages shrink over time.

It automates the process of ensuring Confluence pages are up to date and relevant.

Assuming your talking about pages rather than attachments...

Anything that is not can be archived/deleted.
