How do you configure a confiform webservice field or lookup from ws

I’ve been going round in circles trying to get this set up and can only find half answers or similar but not quite right answers about making it work. 

My basic aim is to have a form that has a text input field that when a number is entered into it will lookup and populate other fields from an api/web service. I’ve built hundreds of confiforms but can’t seem to get the configuration right to return anything at all. Is there a good example of a webservice lookup form with the correct configuration anywhere or has anyone got any tips on getting in configured correctly?

The best option is to use web service object reference. This way you can then reference other data that is returned by your web-service call

Thanks Alex, turns out we are behind on the add on versions so don’t have that action yet but will look at getting that sorted now.
