According to http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Disabling+or+Enabling+a+Plugin this should be possible by disabling the plugin, but in the on-demand version it is listed under "System Plugins" with a stern warning not to disable, and there is no disable link to do this anyway.

Thanks for reporting this. I think this is actually a bug. The Like plugin should be configured as a "user intalled plugin" so that you can disable it.
I've created CONF-25469 to report this bug, and I'll be working on getting a fix for it onto OnDemand asap.

The Confluence Like Plugin cannot be disabled in Confluence OnDemand. I'm sorry for the limitation.
