I would like to transfer share point files from share point in to confluence, can anyone tell me how this is done please.
Hi there, welcome to the Community!
By files - I'm going to assume you primarily mean Word documents. Is that right?
The process for importing Word documents to Confluence using the native tooling is done on a file-by-file basis in both Confluence Server and Confluence Cloud:
While you can add documents as attachments by dragging and dropping them onto an attachment macro, those documents won't be converted to Confluence pages. People trying to access the documents would see them as attachments they could download, preview, or edit in Microsoft Word (using either the "Edit in Office" functionality of Confluence or the Atlassian Companion). Generally we recommend converting documents that might be edited in the future to native Confluence pages if possible, as this will allow you more flexibility in maintaining the contents and using things like Confluence macros.
Doing a search on the Atlassian Marketplace for alternative options for importing Word documents , I see one app currently:
Based on this app's marketplace listing, it appears to support importing in bulk. Checking that app out would be my suggestion for bulk importing Word documents as native Confluence pages.
Cheers,
Daniel
Thanks for the info, i am looking in to how we move our current service wiki from share point in to confluence.
