How do I turn off commenting while drafting

While I'm drafting, I often highlight something to format or edit it.

But the "Comment" modal covers half the line above or below it, and I miss important context I need while I'm editing.

Can

  • I disable the Comment modal while I'm editing?

If I cant do that, can

  • The Comment modal be smaller (just an icon) so it doesn't cover so much text?
  • The Comment modal display farther away from the text I've highlighted so I can see context for what I'm working on?

Hello @laura_white

Can I disable it while editing?

→ Not natively at the moment.

Can I make it smaller or move it farther away?

→ Also not through a Confluence setting that I know of.

There is already an Atlassian suggestion for this: CONFCLOUD-81716. You should watch/vote on that one, because it matches your use case quite closely.
