When I am editing a Confluence article, if I mouse click to say place the cursor where I want it, what often happens is that my page view jumps to the top of the article and then I must scroll back down to where I was to retry the mouse click in a slightly different location.
Why do some of my mouse clicks cause the screen to scroll? How do I disable this?
Hey @Robert Leonhard ,
Just to confirm - is this DC or Cloud environment? Mainly, in both cases, this is caused by OS/browser, so it might be good to start with:
Sometimes, corrupted cache or extensions interfere with the editor's JavaScript, which handles cursor placement and scrolling.
Also, you might want to try to disable any browser extensions and see how system behaves then. 👀
There's also this support article around troubleshooting this/similar issues: JavaScript Browser Errors
I'm not sure if on DC you can 'pin' the navigation/sidebar 🤔 If so, you can try keeping the sidebar in one state to prevent jumps triggered by its automatic opening or closing (I've experienced something like this on cloud one).
Also, are other users experiencing the same issue as well?
Cheers,
Tobi
I'm also having this issue. It happens only when I click between lines, where the arrow pointer is shown. Scrolling doesn't happen for clicks with the I-beam pointer.
