How do I start my own team space?

When I hit the button 'Spaces' the only thing I see is (1) an overview of recent spaces and (2) a space overview. Unfortunately there is no button 'Create new space'. Does this have anything to do with the restrictions of my account? (I'm not a an administrator i.e.)

Indeed it is.  Create space is limited to administrators and anyone in the group(s) named for space creation.

I would ask your admins to add you to the global "can create space" permission.
